Advanced Acupuncture: Course II
Differentiation of Syndromes
Lecturer: Dr. Xia Cheng
Course description:
This two-day weekend course focuses on differentiation of syndromes. The focus of this course is to help practitioner to understand each differentiation principle in TCM and its clinical application; to understand the key symptoms for each syndrome in order to make a correct diagnosis; and to compare similar syndromes and learn to distinguish them from one another. This course is designed for acupuncture or Chinese medicine practitioners who are seeking to improve their diagnostic skills. It is also suitable for practitioners wanting to improve their diagnostic ability in preparation for the provincial acupuncture exam.

Differentiation of Eight Principles
Differentiation of the Six Pathogens
Differentiation of the Syndromes of Qi, Blood and Body Fluid Disorders
Differentiation of the Zang Fu Disorders
Comparison and distinguish of syndromes within and between each method

Advanced Acupuncture: Course III
Point Combinations and Clinical Applications

Course description:
There are 361 points on the regular meridians and over a hundred extra points. Learning how to use a single point for a certain symptom is important; however, learning how to put points together making the points support each other and achieving a more efficient effect, is even more important. This course will focus on the introduction of the principles of point combination, the method of point combination and the clinical use of the different combinations. This will improve the ability of the acupuncture practitioner not only simplifying the point prescription, strengthening the effect but also using the points more accurately.

This two-day course is designed for acupuncture practitioners who want to learn more about acupuncture techniques, and would like to improve whose acupuncture skills. The following contents will be covered:
Ways to practice your fingers and body energy to achieve a more effective skills of acupuncture,
Indications, techniques and applications of the three essential acupuncture methods: filiform needling, fire needle and blood letting;
The classic acupuncture techniques
Commonly used tonification and sedating techniques
Moxibustion and blood letting techniques and applications;
Demonstrations and supervised practise.

Advanced Acupuncture: Course V
Acupuncture Microsystems
and Clinical Applications
Special guest speaker from China
Course description:
In our body, there are many micro-systems that represent our whole body. Diagnosis and treatment can be conducted on those systems. The characteristics of these systems are that they often have a strong effect or advantages on certain illnesses. The application of micro-acupuncture system in conjunction with body acupuncture can often strengthen the treatment effect. In this two-day course, the following content will be included:
Brief introduction of the commonly used micro-acupuncture systems such as auricular, scalp, nose, eyes, tongue, wrist and ankles, the first metacarpal bone
Demonstrations of the acupuncture treatment on the above mentioned micro-acupuncture system.
Supervised practice.
